In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

56 million defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are "citizens". Without them, we are "subjects".
If you value your freedom, please spread this antigun-control message to all of your friends.
SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN!
SWITZERLAND'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE.
SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!
DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.
Spread the word everywhere you can that you are a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment!

The Constitution's great (truly) but the whole F**cking thing can be amended according to its own Article V. The "2nd Amendment" is great (truly), but it is an extremely weak argument to base the support of a thing [the Right to Keep and Bear Arms] solely on that self-same thing [the @nd Amendment]. It is equally weak, and erroneous, to say that our Founders did that.
The 2nd Paragraph of The Declaration of Independence says to chuck your ["any"] government "whenever" you deem necessary. One of those times it states it is your "duty" to. It is further implied a 3rd time in the opening paragraph. There is no way our Founders wrote that, yet still intended for a bona fide U.S. Citizen to ask, the government that that Citizen deemed needing replacing, for the means, or the PERMISSION to obtain the means to do so. And there is no legal or logical argument that can be made to the contrary. Further, no one can be allowed to come along later and claim that our Founders should have had to say that again, or somewhere else, or more fervently, in order that later people could "better understand what they meant" or "what our Founders were thinking when they wrote it" or "what their true intention was", when they wrote it. Our Founders were in a dynamic fight for their very lives, with THEIR government [who was an embedded, quartered, well-armed, Army and Navy in close-quarters, further surrounded by fellow Citizens, some of whom were sympathetic to such forces]. And while the "Shot Heard Round the World" (battles at Lexington and Concord wherein Colonists drove the Redcoats (attempting to secretly steal powder and ammunition stores from those Colonists) back to Boston [15 Miles of MFN HATE]), our Founders, and the fate of this Great Nation, under GOD, needed no more compunction or excuse (as overly-eloquently delineated in The Declaration of Independence). Therefore the 2nd Amendment demands PARITY of Arms (not just "guns") with our government, and it is not our fault what that parity might entail.
Some good points there.
Do you have any recommended reading on the subject?
Based on my reading, it seems the intent of our founders was for citizens to have access to equal firepower as any official wielding authority in the Republic. In Texas, we hold strongly to our belief in the right to bear arms. Many are willing to die atop a pile of hot lead should a new Janet Reno make her way into our homes. In Texas, it is not just "Remember the Alamo" and "Remember San Jacinto". We "Remember Waco" just as others do the same for Ruby Ridge. Waco was a horrific episode in the history of our nation. Especially considering the children who lost their lives in the process of an operation which should have never been mounted on a compound with women and children present.
I especially remember the grandfather shot in the back when part of the Bundy Ranch stand-off.
How many remember that man? Walking in the snow, and shot in the back. Who signed off on that action?
