I still believe you were unfair to me that day. You judged me superficially. You look at me, and you see an oppressed Muslim woman, forced to cover her head by a misogynistic and backwards culture. That's what you meant; you see me as a victim. I don't think you see my choice in all of this...Absolutely disgusting. A program that sticks in apologia denying the abominable beliefs found in the Koran/Hadith, that's all we need. A perfect response to this would be that the character uttering that junk has low self-esteem. That's just the problem with many Muslims who "choose" to wear oppressive clothing.
Here's a synopsis of the episode ("A man of faith"):
Bobby's interest in religion is piqued when he helps Warren study for his Bar Mitzvah and asks why Grace never took him to church. Elsewhere Grace insults Hebba, an Arab-American female student with deep religious beliefs which prompts a campus-wide boycott of her classes. Jack gets a chance to rejoin the track team when the coach needs a replacement runner for Marcus who is on academic probation. In the future, pre-President McCallister struggles with his faith.Sure sounds mind-boggling to me. In any case, the co-creator of this nonsense, Brad Meltzer, is someone who penned a misogynist screed called Identity Crisis, and that's not something anybody concerned about Islamofascism should waste their time on. Thank goodness Jack and Bobby didn't last beyond a single season.
