News outlets are now reporting that the president and Harry Reid have REJECTED the compromise worked out by Joe Manchin and Susan Collins.
This would have opened the govt, continued spending at present (sequestered) levels through March, and given us until December 15th to negotiate a budget on the debt.
The rejection was based on the sequester level spending (at the least).
Well, if Obamacare is used as the example of something which cannot be challenged by a majority in one house. but not the other, since it is already the law of the land, then what are the dems doing challenging the sequester which was certainly passed in a bipartisan fashion, and is THE LAW OF THE LAND?
Maybe in the name of FUNCTIONAL GOVT, Susan and Joe should be thinking very seriously about a third party?
OBAMA:
AP puts Obama at 37/53 approve disapprove
NBC at 47/48
Right track wrong track (WSJ/NBC and AP polls)
22/78
Dems in Senate and House, approve/disapprove:
23/62
Repubs:
17/70
Is there any doubt about how the public feels about govt?
Never mind all that, monday is a holiday … what is going to happen on tues am?
