A Few Al-Shahab Are Looking For a Good Man
From the Christian Science Monitor:
A commando unit from the US Navy’s Seal Team Six launched an amphibious raid on a Somalitown, but failed to confirm a capture or kill of their Al Shabab target, suspected to be linked toNairobi’s Westgate mall terror attack.
The operation could have opposite its intended result of discouraging further attacks. Analysts warn that even earlier successful targeted strikes against Al Shabab, a Somalia-based Islamist militant group, failed to curb the group's capacity to carry out international terror attacks, and that failed missions could in fact bolster its support and recruitment.
The predawn raid Saturday came unstuck when the UStroops were faced with heavier-than-expected return fire, and pulled out to avoid civilian casualties, two security sources said. No Americans were injured.

Why?
"This war differs from other wars, in this particular. We are not fighting armies but a hostile people, and must make old and young, rich and poor, feel the hard hand of war"
Trying for an individual target is trying to make war easy and safe.
In some ways admirable, if you are in the fantasy of what you thought the 13th century chivalrous warfare was.
of course, actually...
The seals are NOT the Marshalls of Dodge City.
What I see here is a failure to understand the enemy and like epa said, trying to make war safe and easy.
We might as well just give it up if we are not willing to do what is necessary to win.
Ever since the success of KBL the activities of Seal VI are being released to the media on a regular basis. At this rate they will soon have their own reality TV show.
This is an outfit so black they are not even supposed to exist. WTF happened to OPSEC.
I totally agree with you anonymous.
You silly people are one step behind the dialectic.
Get with TRU-THOUGHT
Seal Team 6 is not an anti terrorist weapon, they are political tool. A PR screwdriver. That is why OPSEC is an irrelevancy compared to this primary function
