Google Ignores Memorial Day

Charles notes:

At Google, where they use special logos to mark important holidays, they’ve decided not to mark Memorial Day.

I wonder if they put something up for Eid? Does anyone remember?

UPDATE: Ah, here is the list of holidays and birthdays which Google has honored in recent years.

It's a holiday but it's not memorial day over here in Britain (or Europe) we have another day for that

It's very irritating though that a company with as much exposure and power as Google can single-handedly say what's important and what's not.

I notice that as a Brit, St Patricks day is celebrated, but not St George's day, the Patron saint of England. Do we speak English or Irish?! :)

Good point, Jonz (about St. George's Day).

St. Patrick's Day is a completely meaningless holiday in the U.S. It is celebrated with cartoons of Shamrocks and copious amounts of beer.
