PLO convicts escape from Gilboa prison

We now have a case of a prison break in nothern Israel, as 6 convicts loyal to the PLO and jihadist groups escaped by tunneling:
A massive manhunt is underway for six Palestinian prisoners who escaped from the Gilboa prison in Israel's North using a tunnel.

Police, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), Border Police and troops from two IDF companies as well as Special Forces are taking part in the manhunt, and have placed roadblocks in the West Bank. Security forces are also utilizing special units in the search involving dogs and aerial support.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said that troops in the West Bank have been alerted to the escape and are on high alert.

Police are investigating the possibility that the escapees may have managed to escape to Jenin or Jordan.

The six prisoners shared a cell, which is where they dug the tunnel over the course of a month, using a rusty spoon that they hid behind a poster.
It was that easy?!? It goes without saying that was very irresponsible how the prison cell structure was built, enabling them to dig through. Now, what's happened could very easily lead to disaster.

I've seen pics of where they sawed a nice straight line through the concrete shower floor. Must have been a hell of a rusty spoon.

But hey, if I wanted to cut my prison budget and make some troublesome long duration terrorist prisoners disappear at the same time, without being accused of executing them and burying them at sea ......... I'd give them a rusty spoon and let them start digging ...... then when they finished the tunnel, I'd execute them and dump them in the sea.
