Stewart-Colbert ‘Sanity’ Rally Hosted By Radical Muslim Singer Yusuf Islam

Of course, calling for the murder of Salman Rushdie was a sign of sanity.

Click on the title to get the whole story at Weasel Zippers.

For my part, I will say this, I am getting sick of the purposeful naivete of Liberals, which is all funded by the blood the young men who fight to keep this country safe. If it weren't for the fact that rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf, Liberals like Colbert and Stewart would not even have the luxury of thinking a maniac like Yusuf Islam was fit to sing at a concert on American soil.

This man wants to kill an author because he was mildly critical of Islam. Think about that. This man is an enemy of everything we hold dear in this country, and Colbert and Stewart invited him to play at their rally.

What the hell is wrong with them? Seriously, what is wrong with them?

Are they really so uninformed that they don't know that Islam called for the death of Salman Rushdie? I really don't believe they could be. I simply don't believe it.

Do they, instead, think it's a kind of hip rebellion to bring a noble savage like Islam on stage with them? Are they such shallow middle-aged men that they have the need to tell adults they think it would be cool if America were destroyed, so that they feel as if they have street cred? Because that's what they are doing when they invite someone like Islam to sing at their event. They are telling us they are cool with Muslims destroying the First Amendment.

I really had better just stop writing at this point, because my anger is such that, next, I will be calling for the death of anyone who thinks it's funny, hip, or reasonable to call for the death of Rushdie.

For now, I will just say, I have lost a lot of respect for these two men, and I wish they would both lose their careers in that most decadent and capitalist-piggish of all occupations; highly-paid entertainers

Pastorius,
They have to know about Yusuf Islam. They have to know that he stands against the First Amendment, against Freedom of Speech.

So, what is wrong with them?

Perhaps they view themselves as gods of the anti-establishment.

Always On Watch,

Or perhaps they are just not paying attention to the right sources. Still a return to sanity rally that has Yusuf Islam as its host, isn't much of return to sanity rally.

I never had any respect for those two dickwits, so at least I haven't lost anything. And they are not "naive". Rand called it "hating the good because it's the good" which seems a bit hyperbolic but a lot less so than it did say, 30 years ago. What is for sure is that somewhere in the back of their little pea brains they know they can get away with this bullshit because people like us will protect them, with the First Amendment, with the Marines, with being civilized instead of kicking their asses all over the Mall.

I got a couple of verbal slaps in the face today from people supporting the same big lunkhead-but-at-least-not-a-Democrat candidate for Congress I was holding a sign for. I suppose if I held an Pro-Choice Atheist And Tea Party sign I might have been at least 2/3 more welcome down at the Mall. This story reminds me why I was in Peabody square with a Hudak sign instead. It could be worse.

It always makes me sick to see Yusef Islam, because I remember 35 years ago sitting around the fireplace at the ski lodge on Saturday nights getting faced and singing Cat Stevens songs. Now I would gladly kick him out of a plane at 30,000 feet. How did "Moonshadow" turn into this obscenity?

Revere Rides Again,

They might well be naive, I don't know. I was pretty naive before 9/11 and before I found blogs like Jihad watch as well as this one.

I don't think that John Stewert or anyone else that I know of at least, hates the good simply because it is good. In general, I think that is an overly simplistic explain for why people do things that they should not do.

However they are clearly being useful idiots, and may not understand what good really is, or who their real friends are. Maybe they don't appreciate the rights that the constitution protect enough, or take them for granted much more than they should, otherwise they might be a little more hostile to people like Cat Stevens or yusef Islam as he wants to be called now.

As for what changed Kat Stevens, I don't know. I would kind of like to know as well. Maybe he just went in search of spiritually and found Islam. Based on what little he knew about it at the time, it sounded nice to him so he decided to convert and he allowed himself to be brainwashed. It might have just been that he knew someone who was a Muslim, and the guy was able to make Islam sound appealing to him some how, so he choose to commit himself to it. To tell the truth we may never know.

Nihilism with an elite comedic smile.

Nothing more, and there IS hardly anything worse.

These ARE the people who credit those they admit want our demise with the same kind of goals in life that we have.

ARROGANCE

RRA, I feel the same way about Stevens. I still have the 7 1/4 in reel to reel tapes of his first 2 albums.

'Now that I've lost everything to you....'

OOOH, Baby..

WHAT A POS!
It's a fine line with genius and insane.

I say: Well put and good point.

You might be interested to know that I didn't get interested in Cat Stevens until the late 80's/early 90's. I was a singer/songwriter by then, and I considered him a master of the craft. By that time, the Salman Rushdie fatwa had already been declared, and Yusuf Islam had already made his beliefs clear.

Because I was one of the few lefties in the entire world (apparently, given their response since) who actually believed in free speech, I never bought any of Cat Stevens CD's.

Instead, I bought his record albums at garage sales.

Ha ha.

The whole thing was a mockery. Fuck Cat Stevens and fuck those who would stand by him and say he is one of us. Having Colbert and Stewart stand on stage and preach that not all mooslums are terrorists was sickening. Much shame on them.

The "funniest" moment was when Yusuf "death to Salman Rushdie because he insulted my prophet" Islam, said:

"Peace".

Yeah, of course. When is peace going to come? When we all submit to Islam? :(

Hey guys, Remember this? I showed it to Pastorius a while back, and he decided to post it here.

Mad TV - Yusuf Islam (Cat stephens)

Funny!
