The CBC receives $1.2 billion from the Canadian taxpayer every year.— True North (@TrueNorthCentre) December 6, 2019
True North's @AndrewLawton says, "Canadian taxpayers are forced to subsidize a service they don’t want. This is just wrong.” #cdnpoli https://t.co/4qk0npIe6V
This is another example of why there must never be state funded media.
The CBC’s advertising revenues have fallen by over 50% in the past few years. But the state will make up the revenues so that the producers of the postmodern and truth-challenged sputum that comes from the CBC can continue with zero self reflection.
Free markets would have crushed the CBC if it had to float itself. And that is an example of why we should pretty much not have Government-sponsored anything.
Government-sponsorship makes for shit results.
The Government's business should be protecting the Right's of people ... PERIOD.

UK has the same thing with BBC. However you could avoid paying the BBC tax by having no TV in the house. At least those were the rules a couple decades ago.
I have no TV in the house. Does wonders for me and mine.
I have a TV, but none of us watch it.
