The Meaning of Freedom

An American Creed

I Do Not Choose to Be a Common Man

It is my right to be uncommon—if I can.

I seek opportunity—not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.

I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.

I refuse to barter incentive for a dole. I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia.

I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout. I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat.

It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid; to think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say, “This I have done.”

NEATH PORT TALBOT SOCIAL SERVICES AND BONNIE LEWIS

You Americans are very lucky to have the First Amendment. We have no such guarrantees in Britain and the increasingly authoritarian Stalinist government is is using draconian legal methods to stifle freedom of speech.

I didn't believe this story of institutionalised child-abuse and local government corruption when I first read it. I thought it was too horrendous and far-fetched to be true (scroll down to pages 2, 10 and 11): http://www.ukcolumn.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/octukcolumnwebcopy.pdf

However there must be some truth in the story because Neath Port Talbot Council haven't denied it, but have taken out a gagging order on the case effectively criminalising any British bloggers who mention it. http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/news/Injunction-halts-BNP-website-s-child-claim/article-426518-detail/article.html

Maybe you American bloggers could give the Bonnie Lewis case publicity while you still have the freedom of speech that we in Europe have lost.

Anonymous,
I read the article at the BNP site. I'm not sure what the case is about.

Could you clarify it for me?

Regarding Bonnie Lewis, Julie Rzezniczek, the Florida abduction and Neath Port Talbot Children and Young People Services child-abuse:

Britain has draconian laws which allow local authorities to impose gagging orders on child custody cases, even after the child has reached adulthood. Though nominally intended to protect the child, these laws are used to cover up incompetence and corruption by social services and medical staff, and in some cases to protect pedophile rings (eg the export of children from Birmingham to the Jersey Haut de la Garenne pedophile brothel). There is a 'target culture' whereby social workers are rewarded for fulfilling child-removal quotas.

Since the parents have no legal redress against social workers, and indeed cannot even publicise the case, the situation is open to abuse by financially, sexually or politically motivated social workers. Neath Port Talbot seems to be particularly secretive in this regard.

However thanks to the internet, some of these travesties of justice are coming to light. The one involving 12 year old Bonnie Lewis, which included illegal abduction from Florida, may be of particular interest to US bloggers: see page 2 of http://www.ukcolumn.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/octukcolumnwebcopy.pdf

This is a great article and there is an organisation you might find interesting in the UK; it is called No2abuse and has just been issued with the same gagging order for publishing the Bonnie Lewis story on her website (www.no2abuse.com).

There is a large community online working to restore some of the fundamental rights that have been stripped from the English as a nation by the current Labour government and you are more than welcome to see what we are up to :)

My site, which also deals with human rights is called www.divorcemanual.blogspot.com.

Thanks again for sharing this post; it was very interesting.

Kind regards,
Natasha
