John Kerry: The Face of Modern Antisemitism

The Face of Modern Antisemitism
In a speech delivered Wednesday, that was supposed to be the pièce de résistance for one of the dumbest men to take up space in the political class, John Forbes Kerry declared himself an anti-Semite.
He was not that polite about either.
If he had simply said, “I hate Jews” that would be better than what he actually said. Specifically he said, “Israel can either be Jewish or democratic, but it cannot be both.”
In other words, he hates the very concept of Judaism, not just a particular manifestation of it.
The implication, the only way to interpret it, is that he thinks Judaism is incompatible with liberal democracy. There’s never been a time when he has hinted at the same argument with regards to Islam. He has not even said this about Christianity. That would be laughably stupid, but Lurch is a laughably stupid man.
No, he specifically singled out Judaism for this argument. Judaism is incompatible with democracy. Presumably, he would argue that Jews can either be Jewish or citizens of a democracy, but not both.
GO READ THE WHOLE THING.

Nobody hates that dickheaded Kerry more than me, but, I dont think his statement was based on any assumption that Judaism was not compatible with Democracy. It had more to do with Leftist ideology than anti-antisemitism.

He's certainly not the originator of the phrase "“Israel can either be Jewish or democratic, but it cannot be both.”".

I've been hearing it for decades. I think maybe Netanyahu himself might have coined the term in 2003 while trying to scare out the right wing vote.

I've always considered it to be in reference to the projected Israeli Arab Demographic Bomb.

Basically that supposed higher birthrates among the Israeli Arab citizens could someday threaten a Jewish majority in the electorate. And at that point, if it ever happened, something undemocratic would be required to maintain Jewish Control.

.... something perhaps similar to a Guardian Council that would vet candidates that didn't have Jewish interests at heart. Again, Bibi himself has broached the concept.

This is a fear that goes back to the founding of the Jewish state.

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with a Jewish Democracy that limited Knesset candidates to only those that passed a pro-Jewish litmus test. I'm always OK with overt racism, and I think it would as sane a decision as their current one of making IDF service mandatory, but excusing from service the 20% Arab population.

If you cant trust them in your foxhole, you cant trust them at the Ballot Box either.

So, what you're saying is, there is more than one way to interpret Kerry's statement.

Obviously, when we discuss "Democracy" we mean "Democratic Republic." Certainly, Israel can be a Democratic Republic, but it can't be a pure Democracy.

And we don't really have any idea what Kerry meant, because he really doesn't know what he's talking about.

LOL

I think anyone parading around the world, as Kerry does, shooting his mouth off about subjects he knows nothing of, while carrying the kind of authority he has with the title he has (at our expense) deserves to be accused of the worst crimes we can get him on.

Fuck him.

Well, I dont think Obama / Kerry would have abstained from the UN vote if Labor was in power in Israel.

I think in this particular case political ideology played a bigger role than Antisemitism did.

They've given their Leftist brothers in Israel some political ammunition to use against Bibi.

..... while at the same time whining about foreign intervention in our electoral process.

But yes, irregardless, Fuck him.
