Baltimore Police Arrest Videographer Who Filmed Freddie Gray Arrest

This does not look good:

Kevin Moore and two members of Cop Watch from Ferguson, Missouri – Chad Jackson and Tony White – were arrested tonight, in Baltimore. 

Kevin Moore’s footage of Baltimore Police’s actions that day went viral, touching off protests for a week in Baltimore prior to Freddie’s funeral, and have begun sweeping the nation since then. 

Kevin claimed that the police had been harassing and intimidating him after he went public with the footage.

So far there is no news of what he was arrested for.

It had better be good, because if it is not then this has the appearance of retaliation against a citizen who was not breaking the law, and was well within his rights in photographing the Police.

I have written almost nothing about the Baltimore riots, because I tend to believe that Freddie Gray, while he was a bad guy, was indeed mistreated by the Police.

I think it is likely he was, indeed, given a "Rough Ride" that led to the spinal injury which killed him.

Of course, I have no evidence for that. But it seems more plausible to me than the idea that he banged his own head against the inside of the van until he snapped his neck.

Hey, maybe that is how he died. Maybe he slammed his head against the metal at just the wrong angle and died. But if so, forensic evidence will likely show that. And then we'll know the truth.

If, on the other hand, forensic evidence shows bruises and lacerations consistent with a Rough Ride, then we know the truth of that. Truth is truth.

And a final word: Just because Police are out of control (if they are) does not mean the citizens have to riot and revel in chaos.

In Baltimore, the citizens are out of control, and I do not think it is a reasonable response. Instead, I think the riots are being stirred up by people who want to overthrow the Constitution and the duly elected government of We The People. I think these riots are revolutionary in nature. And I think the people who are organizing them ought to be arrested, convicted and put to death for the crime of treason.

But that does not mean that the cops did not intend to do injury to Freddie Gray.

At this point, the Baltimore police are making themselves look very bad.

MORE: I want to give us all some more food for thought. The Police were told to "Stand down" and let the rioters do their thing, right? The Police were told to give the rioters "Space to destroy". Right?

That's terrible, right?

That's a crazy, insane order.

Well then, why did the Police heed the order?

If we think the Police are the thin blue line between us and chaos, then aren't we supposed to be able to trust them to do the right thing in a time of darkness.

Here we have a Mayor in Baltimore who, essentially called for the destruction of property and the Police went along with her orders?!?!?

And we're supposed to think the Police are on the side of what's right?

We need a better contract with those who are supposed to serve us.

If those who are employed by us are given orders to do something that is not in the public good, then they ought to serve us first, not the leaders.

If they don't, then we can not trust them.

What are we supposed to think when we have a Police dept. who gives a bad guy a Rough Ride, is filmed, arrests the videographer for no apparent reason (or at least we don't have one yet), and also "Stands down" and allows the destruction of property on orders from those who are in charge of their paycheck and pension?

What are we supposed to think?

What would they do if they were ordered to enact Martial Law against us?
