Nevermind that the balance reflects the choices of the american people over 30 years

Schumer to fight ALL/ANY new Bush high court picks

New York Sen. Charles E. Schumer, a powerful member of the Democratic leadership, said Friday the Senate should not confirm another U.S. Supreme Court nominee under President Bush “except in extraordinary circumstances.”

“We should reverse the presumption of confirmation,” Schumer told the American Constitution Society convention in Washington. “The Supreme Court is dangerously out of balance. We cannot afford to see Justice Stevens replaced by another Roberts, or Justice Ginsburg by another Alito.”

Now, though I favored many of decisions made by the courts of the late 40's to the late 60's, I wonder what Chucky would have said if Everett Dirksen had said all that about the decisions of Earl Warren, William O Douglas, Robert Jackson, Thurgood Marshall, and Arthur Goldberg and others ... who served at the appointments of liberal (now neocon) presidents of the USA chosen by the people of the USA over LENGTHY periods of time.

By stating that the court is dangerously our of balance, Schumer has stated the US people are dangerously unbalanced, and that we have been in electing those men whose chose those justices over a VERY long time.

Do any of these people realize how they sound?
