As predicted:Obama tells United, American, and Delta - COMPLY WITH CHINA ON HER FLIGHT RULES IN PACIFIC, Japan gives them the finger

Why don’t we have a carrier in that zone, flying off F-18’s to escort the passenger craft, OUR PASSENGER CRAFT, WITH OUR PEOPLE, thru the zone?

Isn’t that the ACTUAL PURPOSE of American armed forces?

Never mind the message sent by the Obama Admin, who cares what that was intended to be? What message was received in Beijing?

There is only 1 reason which is justified in not escorting flights by F-18’s. We cannot protect the carrier from postulated DF-21 attack. But we STILL could use F-15’s and F-22’s from Okinawa, or Taiwan. Okinawa is jammed full of US aircraft.

Barack Obama is not prepared to do whatever it takes to protect Americans under clear threat, and or their property.

What good then, is the entire federal structure?

U.S. airlines United, American and Delta, have notified Chinese authorities of flight plans when traveling through an air defense zone Beijing has declared over the East China Sea, following U.S. government advice.

The United States said on Friday it expected U.S. carriers to operate in line with so-called notices to airmen issued by foreign countries, although it added that the decision did “not indicate U.S. government acceptance of China’s requirements.

A spokesman for Delta Airlines said it had been complying with the Chinese requests for flight plans for the past week.

American and United said separately that they were complying, but did not say for how long they had done so.

Airline industry officials said the U.S. government generally expects U.S. carriers operating internationally to comply with notices issued by foreign countries.

In contrast, two major airlines in Japan, the United States’ close ally, have agreed with the Japanese government that they would fly through the zone without notifying China.

We are in real trouble here in the USA. We have controlled the deficit largely on the back of the military, and now what is going on? Is that the real problem here? Unknown.

But we STILL have 800 F-15’s and 186 F-22’s, and a HUGE NUMBER of F-16’s. We have 11 carriers, their fleets and about 650 F-18’s.

We don’t need any bellicose speeches.

We don’t need any PR leaks.

We just need a quiet announcement from the govt that the the president is doing his job. His PRIMARY job. Protecting Americans who are CERTAINLY as innocent as it gets in this, another disaster in foreign policy.

'All American civilian flights, will be escorted through this so called Chinese air defense zone, until further notice. Neither I nor anyone else in the govt will have any further comment'

Then you send a message to Beijing “DON”T BE STUPID AND KILL AMERICANS ON MY WATCH”

That will NEVER HAPPEN.

I am PROUD Japan is our ally. I am sure they are not saying the same about us. And I don’t blame them in the least.
