I Believe We're At An Impasse: Trump Declares NYT, NBC, ABC, CBS, and CNN Are ‘The Enemy of The American People!’

I hope Epa will forgive me, because in a sense this post is a repeat of a portion of his post from earlier today.

Epa says:
When I read the President's counter-punch tweet, I was aghast. My view was that the media had COMPLETELY lost my faith and my trust to REPORT reality, but enemy of the people was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over a line.
Especially from the president.
Like the moment Trump was so offensive towards McCain (who we can see in his comment OUTSIDE THE USA yesterday STILL takes it very personally) in what seems like archaeology, now. Over the line, right?
Except.....Except.... Except...
Ok, so here are my thoughts:

1) The News Media is important. And, labeling the media "the enemy" really is the tactic of a Dictator who wants his followers to avoid information contrary to his agenda.

2) Much of the News Media has proven itself to be willing to bend the truth, and outright lie, to serve an agenda which serves the Left wing. For instance, I can not remember the last time a Republican Presidential candidate was not branded a "racist" by mainstream news media organizations. These same Mainstream news outlets hate Trump even more than any previous candidate, and they have clearly unleashed an anarchic ideological war against him, in which truth does not matter at all. They will look for the single little needle of irrationality in the haystack of truth claims in a Press Conference. And they will outright lie when it suits their campaign to delegitimize, and even unseat him.

So, here are my questions:

Is the media the Enemy?

Is it necessary to trust the media?

Has the media become an overpriced retailer of information, and should we just buy direct from the source?

UPDATE - When I say, "Buy direct from the source", I mean,

Should we just get our information directly from the Twitter feed of whatever politician is generating the story through his actions?

Oh, and by the way:

Poll: More voters trust White House to tell the truth than trust the media to do so

Let me try that again.

1. Is the media the Enemy?

Yes, but not the only Enemy. That said, the media carries the water for the greater Enemies of the republic.

2. Is it necessary to trust the media?

No! But to a certain extent, a certain amount of such trust is almost unavoidable. Who has time to chase down and verify or debunk every story the media puts out.

3. Has the media become an overpriced retailer of information, and should we just buy direct from the source?

YES to part one of that question. I'm not quite sure what part two of the question means.

Well, let me ask you this Pasto. Were they the mouth piece of ONE party - the Communist Party - Were they getting the necessary honest information to make proper decisions about their society? Were they being informed properly? Was Pravda during the USSR an enemy of the people? The enemy being the Communist Party.

Is today's MSM the mouthpiece of only one party?

WC,
Yes to all of your questions.

IMO, here in the US at this time in history, the media is the official mouthpiece of the Oligarchy, which is represented in the political realm by the Democrat/Republican Uniparty.

Pasto,
Thanks for the clarification. I say yes to that, too, but I also read Whitehouse.gov.

Pasto,
I strongly agree with your comment of 7:56:00 pm!

Is publishing illegally acquired classified information the role our founders envisioned for a free press?

The people who leak classified information should go to prison. What should happen to the media outlet that publishes that same information?

There's a big difference between totally untrustworthy and ENEMY.

One you laugh at when a claim is made, the other you remember Mattis' words (just be ready to kill everyone in the room)

One is ripe for BANKRUPTCY, or replacement if not reform, the other is ready for and a target FOR CIVIL VIOLENCE.

One become a target for ridicule, the other a target for bloodshed.

I may want to see Chuck Todd holding a pewter mug selling pencils, but making him an enemy puts him in an ambulance. I may want to see Jake Tapper reduced to LOSING HIS STATUS to the name reporter and labeled opposition analyst, as we would look at Rachel Maddow, but in now way is he an enemy.

IMO, it is important to remember these morons in self important foolishness have adopted the attitude that Trump represents exceptional danger, excusing their hostility, and BY THAT CONCEIT, have lost their place and their meaning in american society and culture.

The punishment for that is loss of place, not loss of life, and ENEMY, is the latter.

That having been said, I'll probably be ready to kill everyone in the room anyway.

;)

You never know.

It might all break down, and there is no doubt the left WANTS a violent trigger moment

I'm not so sure that such is true in 21st Century America. Hyperbole is the norm -- and doesn't always serve as a call to violence.

No doubt about that!

AoW.. would either an assassination attempt or violent confrontation of a Steve MIller, or Bannon, or KellyAnne Conway, OR Agosta, or Amanpour, or Don Lemon shock you?

Not me.

And THAT the the heart of why hyperbole HAS GOT TO END, and it has to end via leadership. Maybe that means Trump just never calls on MSM again, or offers anyone to a sunday show, and Spicer ignores these people permanently, but the overt enmity building has to stop before the process becomes the meaning

ROME Gracchi >> Sulla

I WRITE - WELL, OK. SURE.

BUT HERE'S THE THING: SOME OF THESE PEOPLE ARE PARTICIPATING IN AN EFFORT TO UNSEAT THE DULY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

I guess that's not a coup.

Hence, not an enemy?

I RESPOND - See, this is true. Right? We know what they are attempting.

At what point do we call them enemy?

Maybe the point here is we need to make a hard distinction, so we don't bumble into something without knowing what we're doing.

I RESPOND - Yes, this is important to remember.

RT says: The people who leak classified information should go to prison.

I RESPOND - Wait. Did we feel the same way about the ill-gotten information about Hillary and the DNC? About the information that shows that CNN colluded with Hillary?

Did we feel the same way about those leaks and the publication thereof?

Epa,
I would not be surprised.
