And so tonight we will again light the Neighborhood Council Fire and hand out the goodies from there to the visiting ghosts ghouls and goblins. making s'mores for them on the spot. Libations for their folks if interested. They usually are.

All, of course, with some loud appropriate accompanying music of course.

Hope your celebrations were as festive as described. For us - this was a most unusually muted trick or treat session - in living memory. Over the past dozen years, we typically receive 300-400 trick-or-treaters. This year, a whopping two dozen at most. Granted, the neighborhood has aged over the decades, but to have such a sudden decline was most unexpected. Oh well, our local food bank will have plenty of dum-dum pops & cheetos this week! -HRW
