BREAKING: OBAMA ADMITS HE'S A MUSLIM (UPDATED!)

Most Important UPDATE Here at top of post: I'm wrong on what I wrote towards the bottom of this post. That's probably apparent to many of you.

Barack was not "calling McCain out on his Christianity. He was accusing unnamed conservatives of calling him out on rumors of his Muslim faith.

That's the reason for the gaffe.

The reason I made the mistake I made here is that I blog in betweeen family life, with kids and work interrupting me constantly. I blew it.

My sincerest apologies to everyone for fucking up. I will leave my mistake up for the record. Let the record state that I can be an idiot sometimes. Well, maybe quite often.

:)

Always on Watch commented: As a Christian, I would never put the adjective for another faith between "my" and "faith." Of course, Obama does poorly without a script. Still, that's no excuse, IMO. I dread to think what gaffes he'd make in diplomacy situations.

UPDATED AT BOTTOM OF POST

This is either laugh-out-loud funny or frightening depending on whether you believe he just made a mistake, or that he is accidentally admitting the truth.

Thanks to Anonymous for sending it to me.

AOW UPDATE REQUEST FROM PASTORIUS (Thanks to Reliapundit of THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS):

BOTTOM-LINE: BARACK HUSSEIN "BARRY SOETORO" OBAMA JUNIOR IS NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME

Again from Reliapundit, here's the context:

PASTORIUS ADDS - If you think about it, the wider context given by the additional clip makes the case - for this being a Freudian slip - even stronger.

After all, if Obama were talking about his Christian faith, why would McCain have made an issue of it?

McCain is a Christian himself, and it certainly wouldn't help Obama to be calling another man out on his Christianity.

So, when Stephanopolous stepped in and suggested an a way out of the rhetorical mess Obama had created for himself, Obama shifted the subject to something that didn't make any sense in the context of the discussion.

That is proof that he was grasping at straws trying to make up for a bad mistake.

The predisposition of the American electorate (those who actually tend to vote) is OVERWHELMINGLY Christian.

And, even those who aren't Christian, still support the right of Christians to be Christian, and would not tend to criticize a person for being Christian.

Obama's statement here implies one of two things;

1) McCain would call Obama out on his Christian faith, which makes no sense, because McCain is a Christian too.

or

2) Obama is a Muslim.

Is there another choice that I'm missing?

I don't think so.

Obama killed himself today, and he knows it.

Hallelujah! Obama is dead.

Freudian slip?

I'm posting this at my site. Now.

'..my Muslim faith...'

Interesting, and that he said it when he was clearly bothered is even moreso. It does come off as a slip, esp. since his campaign denies that he was ever a Muslim, which is a lie.

Pastorius said...

Bosch,

I agree with you. However, it is suspicious that this video is coming out in a 13 second clip.

What will really convince me is to see the discussion in its wider context.

Bosch Fawstin said...

Yes, would love to see it all, but his stating it presently, 'My Muslim faith', is something he wishes he could take back, regardless of the full context of it.

Pastorius said...

Bosch,

Yes it is.

And, I think I will leave this post at the top of IBA until late Monday, and then I will move it into the sidebar until Obama is defeated. At which point, we can all party.

Always On Watch said...

I'm thinking that Obama is going to backpedal and say something like "I meant to say 'alleged'."

But a lawyer shouldn't be making such an omission.

Pastorius said...

A lawyer shouldn't make such a mistake, but a dumb guy like Obama makes such stupid mistakes on a constant basis.

Pastorius said...

Oh, and keep in mind, Obama also says we ought not have military tribunals for Guantanamo Terrorists, instead we ought to have Nuremburg-like trials (which were, of course, military tribunals.

And, Obama is going to invade Pakistan.

Yes, for a dumb guy, Obama has a lot of ideas.

Stephanopolous (sp?) had to correct Obama??? Wow, just wow!

SamenoKami said...

Obama cannot speak w/o a script. He is a mouthpiece for someone else. I want to know who that someone is. Freud is alive. I love it. The Demos are imploding. It's the Palin factor.

Thanks for finding the longer clip which put the statement back in context. Freudian slip - ha!

BTW . . .I found the original clip in the comments at a pro-Hillary site discussing al Mansour. Guest blogger JB does some sleuth work worth exploring.
I may not agree with td's politics, but I appreciate this tempered tenacity. I anticipate our opposing paths meeting in the near future as such tenacious discovery can't help but lead to the same conclusion.

Not only would you never accidentally put the word Muslim in that phrase instead of Christian, but, as long as you lived in America, you would never discuss the idea of one man calling another man out on his Christianity.

The idea simply doesn't make sense, especially considering that the predisposition of the American electorate (those who actually tend to vote) is OVERWHELMINGLY Christian.

Pastorius said...

This gaffe reveals a worn down "O". Last week did not go as well as he anticipated it would. The RNC and McCain chose Palin for heavens sake. How dare they actually compete?
O and his staff were caught totally unprepared and took a few painful childish mis-steps. Mis-steps that are currently reflected in the positive bounce at the polls for McPalin.

To address this bounce, O will have to hunker down and prepare for the planned debates. Impromptu is not O's forte - so this presents a major challenge and commitment of energy and time.

Now, considering O will be facing some uncomfortable questions this week regarding Philip Berg's lawsuit (blog discussion here) . . .I'd say recent events have been taxing Obama bin Biden energy reserves. . . hence, this slip of the tongue.

With only a few weeks left before the elections, the pressure is building. It's not unrealistic to anticipate O tripping up repeatedly in the next few weeks.

Time to get the word out. Why would Obama lie as a devout Muslim? One word: taqqiya, which is what most of us expected anyway.
I hope leftist America is listening.

Always On Watch said...

Check out this in the Washington Times (emphasis mine):

Sen. Barack Obama's foes seized Sunday upon a brief slip of the tongue, when the Democratic presidential nominee was outlining his Christianity but accidentally said, "my Muslim faith."

The three words -- immediately corrected -- were during an exchange with ABC's George Stephanopoulos on "This Week," when he was trying to criticize the quiet smear campaign suggesting he is a Muslim....

Immediately corrected by Stephanopolous -- not by Obama!

AOW,
If I am not mistaken, an anonymous commenter posted this for me just a half hour after the show aired.

I wonder who that anonymous commenter was and how they got a hold of that thirteen second clip.

He's smart, talented, and able to think on his feet, so yes I would expect him to CORRECT himself quickly and smoothly. Would you really expect him to just say, "oops, I'm really a muslim, sorry. Darn, there goes the presidency."

It was a freordian slip, plain and simple, and of course he's going to cover his mistake.

Anonymous said...

Listening to the full clip IN CONTEXT, the statement was an ownership statement. Not a referring statment. If he really meant to refer to the Muslim faith as he is saying it would have been.

"Your absolutely right, John McCain has not inferred, identified, speculated about ME BEING...

But instead,

"He has not talked about MY...

Based on the full video, there are two possibilities. It was a freudian slip, or it wasn't. But it IS a possibility that this man could be a closet Muslim. Look at all the evidence, he often wouldn't wear a flag pin, doesn't respect the national anthem, Muslim Father, and the list goes on. I don't even have to get into the Rev. Wright crap.

Is anybody willing to put a man into the most powerful position of this country, The Presidency of the United State, with even a REMOTE possibility that he could be a Muslim? Has Septeber 11th, been completely forgotten already?

The reason this tiny slip of the tongue has gained so much traction is because Obama has refused to open all records, including his academic records for inspection.

Do I care about his IQ? Not exactly. But I am very concerned about his associations while he attended university. He visited Pakistan as a college student on an Indonesian passport under the name Barry Soetoro. Why Pakistan?
What organizations did he affiliate with? He didn't convert to Christianity before he met Michelle. Was he influenced by campus muslim student associations? What is he trying so adamantly to conceal?
His grades weren't that great at Columbia which explains why he would need letters of recommendation from someone of influence, like Sutton.

Obama needs to release his records to let some of the pressure off.

Very hard to believe.

I think it's more likely some paranoid neocons (CODE CODE) digitally altered the video in a surreptitious pot processing.

cmon people.

This is 1/trufer.

However it shows HE IS BLOWN OUT and things haven't even got going for real.

Just like the pledge he was a statue for, his mind is elsewhere, probably on the next thing he is going to say, and he is just wasted.

Honestly, I don't think he's a secret Muslim.

He's a Marcusian communist, who uses the rotten bastard Socialist, Saul Alinsky's, methods and Marcusian minority rabble-rousing to replace "class struggle" with racial victimhood.

He also isn't worth spit without a teleprompter.

I'll bet his classes in constitutional law were so disjointed that it called his sanity into question.

Think of this, if he is prone to bone-headed mistakes, whether it be about his lack of military service or his religion, just imagine a gaffe while dealing with Iran or North Korea or Russia. We will be lucky to survive an Obama presidency

What next? Well we have less than 57 days left until we vote, I am betting the house he will make many more gaffes because he is a bone-head

No teleprompter=Gaffe heaven

Ok, I give up... Could someone **please** tell me why ANY American politician's faith/religion is cause for alarm? Seriously folks, especially you who are American's, you should know better!!

Remember that little thing called "separation of church and state?" Yeah, it's there for a reason, and this is it. I don't care whether the person in question is a Republican, a Democrat or otherwise, bringing their faith into the consideration of whether or not they can do the job is nuts! It shouldn't matter at all, because their faith needs to remain outside the lawmaking chambers.

But you know, it's a little hard for our elected officials to remember the fact that their religion should have no bearing whatsoever on their politics, when the voting populous is constantly screaming that it does.

Moreover, everyone has the right, by design mind you, to believe in whatever they want, be it Jesus, or Allah, or Buddha, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or all of the above at once! Why is it that so many who proudly proclaim America as the "land of the free" are hell-bent on seeing those freedoms destroyed?

I'd really like to have answers to these questions. In fact I'll post this on my blog, and anyone who feels like replying can visit me there. Perhaps I'm wrong, and I'm fully willing to admit that as a possibility, but someone must be able to explain this to me.

6wolves1spirit,
Islam believes that Sharia law ought to be spread across the Earth.

Sharia calls for death for apostates, gays, and women caught in adultery.

In Islam, women have little in the way of rights. In fact, in multiple Islamic countries, Sharia is used as a way to completely suppress women to the point where they do not have the right to decide whether to get an education, who to marry, whether to go outside, whether to drive, who to associate with, whether to have a job, etc.

That means they are, quite literally, slaves, as they have no right to choose anything for themselves.

Islam is a political ideology tied in with a religion. You would have no problem saying Nazism was an evil ideology which can not be allowed to have power.

Likewise, I say Islam is an evil ideology and it ought not be allowed to have power.
