Accept Islam Or Die Like Infidel Pigs

Robert Spencer pointed out that Ahmadinejad's letter was a call to Islam, and, as such, is, according to scripture, a prelude to war:

In a Hadith, Muhammad tells his followers to call people to Islam before waging war against them:

"Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them….If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya [the tax on non-Muslims specified in Qur’an 9:29]. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them." (Sahih Muslim 4294)

In light of that, this letter could be -- but is not necessarily -- a prelude to an attack.

Tonight, I was listening to the Hugh Hewitt Show and a caller noted to him that the final words in Ahmadinejads letter went untranslated, for no explainable reason. Here are the final words:

Vasalam Ala Man Ataba’al hoda Mahmood Ahmadi-Najad
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

So, what do the words mean? They mean,

"Peace be upon only those who follow in the path of the true faith."

In other words, there is an implicit threat in these words.

This letter was a declaration of war. There is no doubt about it. However, our news media and many of our government officials are completely ignorant of this fact, and are, instead, encouraging the Bush Administration to enter into talks with the Iranian Regime.

It is time to wake up, everybody. There is no compromising with Hitlerian figures. Therefore, negotiation is futile. There is nothing to negotiate, if neither side is willing to give.

Ahmadinejad has declared a war, and no one knows it.

Pass it around, my friends. Everyone needs to understand what is happening.

Pastorius, I thought the same thing. But there is no one in this government who has researched Islam and understands that. It's all about political correctness. Interpreting such statements in the context of commands from Mo, that is SO islamophobic!

Oil as Jizya, huh Publius.

I don't know that that is going to work for us.

China and India can more than make up for us.

Has anyone else here noticed that information about Iran is all but missing in the msm right now?

Is the Jizya demand still to come or is that buried in Ahmadhimmijerker's verbal foliage as well? If so the next we can probably expect is attack. Please give this information to everyone you can because virtually nobody out there has a clue. They're too busy listening to Neil Young or the Dixie Chicks wail about Iraq or going to Al Gore's doomsday movie or playing let's pretend our phones are tapped. But we can at least raise the awareness so if something happens maybe a few people will at least have heard that war was declared on us weeks ago!

Good point, Little Red Bird.

Jeez, that means I'm going to have to read the whole eighteen pages of that freaking letter.

Ugh.

I don't know how the man managed to make a declaration of war so intensely boring.

Nejad is a moron.

His salutations sounds like the stuff Ali Eshtehar says:

"Peace Be Upon You (only on the Muslims)"

art imitating idiocy.

Eteraz,
Could you translate the last phrase in the Ahmadinejad letter for me?

I don't think that I got it exactly right.
